This contribution aims to show that the work Lives of Eminent Philosophers by Diogenes Laertius is fundamental not only to the study of ancient philosophers, but also to the rediscovery and study of ancient women philosophers. The contribution aims to show that Diogenes' remarks on the few women considered draw portraits of exceptional philosophers worthy of inclusion in the traditional philosophical canon.
