When the food comes out of the kitchen and is placed in literature, movies, and in all kind of art, it can be expressed as its many meanings, reaching its cultural, religious, social and economic meanings. The article presents the food as a subject in the movies and its role as a narrative resource or a main narrative element. The aim of this study was to analyze the film Babette´s Feast, directed by Gabriel Axel, in 1987, related to gluttony and sin. The methodology was the film analysis of Babette´s Feast and bibliographic research.
