O Colégio da Santíssima Trindade de Coimbra, tinha por objetivo albergar os estudantes da Ordem da Santíssima Trindade da Redenção dos Cativos que vinham estudar para Coimbra.
A sua formosa igreja tinha cinco altares; o Altar-mor, o Altar de Nossa Senhora da Encarnação; o Altar de São Miguel; o Altar de Santo António e a Capela do Senhor Crucificado e era nela que o culto religioso da Universidade se realizava, sempre que a Capela da Universidade estava impedida. Em 1627, o colégio obtém licença da câmara para fazer um arco de pedraria e um passadiço de acesso ao pátio da Universidade.
O arquivo deste Colégio diz essencialmente respeito à gestão administrativa e patrimonial dos seus bens e rendimentos. O presente catálogo tem por objetivo último divulgar todo o manancial de informação registada nesta documentação, que se encontra no Arquivo da Universidade de Coimbra.

Abstract

The College of the Holy Trinity of Coimbra was designed to accommodate students of the Order of the Holy Trinity of the Redemption of Captives who came to study in Coimbra.
Its beautiful church had five altars; the main altar, the altar of Our Lady of the Incarnation, the Altar of St. Michael, the Altar of St. Anthony and the Chapel of the Crucified Lord, and it was where the religious cult at the University was held, whenever it was impossible to be held at the University Chapel. In 1627, the college obtained a license from the Mayor’s Office to make a stone arch and an access bridge to the University’s courtyard.
This College’s archive relates mainly to the administrative and patrimonial management of its assets and income. The present catalog is designed to make public all sources of information registered in this documentation, which is on the Coimbra’s University Archive.
