Abstract

This article aims to present the documentation/information of the Marie-Louise Bastin (MLB) archive, currently held by the Department of Life Sciences of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra and by the Science Museum of the same university.

Since the archive is one of the components of this Information System, which also integrates the library and the ethnographic collection, it is specifically intended to contribute to its dissemination in the community. To fulfill this objective, the respective guide and inventory are presented.

It is concluded that the archive results from the professional activity of MLB, for over three decades, as a teacher and researcher in the fields of Art History, Anthropology, Ethnography and, in particularly, Cokwe art and culture.
