In Portugal, heat waves and cold waves are seasonal, sporadic but recurrent events and the most deadly natural hazards in the last decades. In this context, this case study present the hazard, vulnerability and risk maps, developed on the Torres Novas municipality, based on different methodologies at the regional and local scale. The results of the different models show the relevance of geographical criteria on thermal variability and the importance socio-economic conditions in increased vulnerability and risk.Downloads
