Brazilian tourism policy in the last 13 years has been based on the objective of dynamizing the economy regionally through activities related to tourism, using, basically, local resources, cultural identity and landscape. In this way, among the products generated by the policy implemented, the new tourist routes stand out. Thus, this article deals with the influence of tourism in the coastal region of the state of Piauí, Brazil, which is part of the main tourist product of the central north region, the Route of Emotions. Therefore, based on qualitative methodology, this research focuses on the section comprising the municipalities of Parnaíba, Ilha Grande, Luís Correia and Cajueiro da Praia, which delimit the territory under study which is called the Touristic Polo of the Delta Coast. The present work aims to highlight the current scenario of tourism in the Route of Emotions, presenting influences in the cultural landscape of the Touristic Polo of Delta Coast. Surveys of the resident population has generated results that point to a negative impact on the natural environment, transformations in the local way of life and new economic perspectives for the coastal region of Piauí, all of which explain the modeling of the relationships between the residents and the natural and touristic spaces.
