In 1850, in Tróia (Setúbal, Portugal), archaeologists excavated a very well preserved domus, which still had the walls to the upper floor with mural paintings. Due to the archaeologist’s neglect, the excavation led to the collapse of the walls, a process which continued to take place during the 19thcentury.
We present a reconstitution of the domus based on the brief report of the excavations undertaken in 1850, on old photographs and on various author’s descriptions of the house and what is left of it.
