De novo sobre a municipalidade de Bracara Augusta no período Flávio

Abstract

The arguments in favour of the Flavian municipality of Bracara Augusta are presented taking into account one of the author’s recent interpretation about oil-lamp stamps associated with the Lucretii family. According to this interpretation it is also suggested that the city as a municipality was the owner of a figlina and had established a contract of the locatio-conductio type with the owners of the workshops. It is still put forward that the Lucretii family might have enjoyed an important prestige in the city thanks to its wealth and consequent social promotion. Other epigraphic data are presented to check the Flavian municipality in the conviction that that statute correspond to one of the most important administrative transformations that the city suffered in its two first century of live.
