In addition to a documentary and historical function, records about authoritarian periods have an educational and social function, as remembering this past is a form of resistance and a way of reaffirming the importance of guaranteeing freedoms and rights. In this context, this text focuses on the memories of the working class, one of the protagonists in the resistance to the authoritarian government in Portugal (1926-1974). We will seek to understand how the discourses that emerge from these memories are articulated when these people relive their experiences.
