A new concept of “Sustainable Company”: An analysis on the Greenwashing issue in the European context

In a world concerned with environmental issues, companies are forced to try to build an image in line with these market concerns. In this context, mechanisms – most optional – are born to legitimize that companies are effectively socially responsible. But do these instruments really prove that companies are acting? Or are they just manipulable means for companies to create a socially responsible image? Is there effective concern on the part of companies or are all changes made by companies just Greenwashing? How can the Greenwashing problem be overcome? Perhaps a new legal concept of “Sustainable Company” is the way…
