GUIDELINES FOR PLOUTARCHOS N,S,

1. Manuscripts may be written in any ofthe oflicial languages ofthe IPS: English, French, German, Italian, Latin, Modem Greek, Portuguese, and Spanish.
2. Abstracts & Key-Words: Articles will be sent together with key-words and an abstract in English not longer than seven
3. Format: Manuscripts must be typed double-spaced on Times-New Roman 11. The length ofmanu­ scripts must not exceed 15000 words without previous agreement with the Manuscripts must be sent in electronic version (PC Microsoft Word Windows) as an attached file to an e-mail message.

Single quotations: Either follow the procedure indicated in 5 A) or incorporate the entire reference in the notes, according to the following conventions, which are the same as for the bibliography (with the single exception that in the bibliography the sumame should precede the initial, g. ZIEGLER, K., "Plutarchos von Chaironeia", RE XXI (1951), cols. 636-962.

Books: Author (in the case ofjoint authorship, separated by a comma, with the final name pre­ ceded by &), comma, title ofwork in italics, comma, volume in Roman numerals (where applicable), comma, place ofpublication, comma, year (with superscript number ofeditions ifnot the first, and year ofthe first edition in parenthesis), comma, and quoted pages:

6. Quotations from ancient authors: Author, comma, work, book (Arabie numerals), full stop, chapter (Arabie numerals), comma, paragraph (Arabie numerals), or: Author, comma, book (Roman num­ bers), chapter or verse (Arabie numerals), full stop, paragraph (Arabie numerals).
7. Abbreviations of Greek works and authors: for preference, cite according to conventions of the Liddell & Scott or ofthe DGE edited by R. Adrados & others.
8. Abbreviations of Latin works and authors: follow the Thesaurus Linguae

7. Notes references: References (in Arabie numbers) to the footnotes must precede always the si_gns of punctuation, g.: "...correspondait à l'harmonie psychique1. Dans le Tzmée2 et la République3, ..."
8. Greek & non-Latin Fonts: For Greek and other non-Latin texts, use Unicode
