The meaning of life has been regarded as a topic of paramount import by the Literature, the Philosophy and, more recently, by the science as well. After a short reference to its ideological context, this paper presents the main trends of the empirical research in this field, specifically, those concerning the models of successful aging, the gerotranscendence, the spirituality, and the well-being.Downloads
