1. Psychologica only accepts original works, and those exclusively submitted for evaluation to Psychologica.

1.1 The author must attach to his submission a declaration that the article submitted for publication is an original work and has neither been published in any other journal nor is under consideration for publication by any other journal;
1.2 The submitted articles are checked in anti-plagiarism software before starting the review process.

2. All submitted papers undergo the following steps:

2.1 The Editorial Board carries out an initial evaluation of the quality of the manuscripts and their appropriateness for the journal, taking into consideration:

- The approximation of the manuscript’s framework and the scientific scope of the journal;
- The formal adjustments according to the guidelines previously defined;
- The overall scientific quality of the work;

2.2 Any authors whose articles are not accepted for publication by the Editorial Board will be informed by email of this decision.

2.3 Articles accepted by the Editorial Board proceed to the second step, which involves the peer review process, which adheres to the following:

- The peer review process consists of a minimum of two and a maximum of three reviewers;
- The reviewers, external to the Editorial Board of the Journal, are invited to assume the evaluation role according to their scientific merit in the area of the manuscript;
- Article is subjected to a blind review in terms of the author’s or reviewer’s identity;

2.4 The evaluation process is carried out according to a grid provided to the reviewers, which includes, among others, the following fields:

- Appropriateness of title, abstract, keywords and bibliography;
- Appropriateness and correction of the text itself;
- Appropriateness and relevance of the theoretical framework;
- Appropriateness and relevance of the research question(s);
- General and specific methodological suitability of the work;
- Appropriateness and consistency of analysis and discussion of the results obtained;
- Appropriateness and consistency of conclusions;
- Ethical and deontological aspects.

2.5 The decision of the reviewers may be one of the following:

- Approved: If the article is fit for publication in its current form.
- Minor Revision: If the article is fit for publication after being revised accordingly to the journal's reviewers' and/or editors' recomendations.
- Major Revision: If the article can be revised in a way to be fit for publication, but is necessary substantial revisions to the text and that is not obvious that the final version (with revisions made) will be successful.
