Abstract

Violence is one of the biggest problems of Humanity. It’s not simple to propose actions and solutions for this reality, for the complexity of the subject. The fact is, due to be so present in our days, it seems that violence has became chronic, letting us more and more tendentious practicing it like a legitimized action. Studies reveal the magnitude of the problem and the great scientific proposal is to know them possible origins of the aggressive / violent behaviour to prevent it. Following this principle, the study of violence must focus the child and the television. This study analyzed the violence scenes at the children’s television series in Brazil and determined the frequency of acts of violence. The study is descriptive and of cross cut. It was analyzed the children’s television series of two television channels during Saturdays. Data were obtained using a questionnaire and the results showed that there was registered a total of 632 acts of violence, the Woodpecker was the child movie with bigger number of violent scenes and the commonest type of violence was the interpersonal one.
