Scientific management has acquired a new vitality after the end of World War II when some organizations started to dedicate themselves to the study and development of these methods. In industry, the National Institute of Industrial Research presented a great importance, being responsible not only for the organization of a wide range of studies and training in Portugal and abroad, but also for several contacts with a number of international organizations. National Institute of Industrial Research became, in fact, a major player in the country’s internationalization process
