Abstract

This research had the goal to analyze the risks of contamination in brownfields sites, since many industries developed activities with potential contamination, making the real state and terrains unfit or restricted to a new use. Proposals were analyzed for rehabilitation and guidelines to regulate plans for real state reoccupation, becoming necessary the study of environmental legislation to define the soil quality and risks to be minimized in the rehabilitation process that is closely related to the risks to public health that a contaminated area may bring to the surrounding community of these sites.
