Hipertermia na redução de sintomas traumáticos e depressivos em profissionais envolvidos em acidentes

O risco de adoecer psicológico (ex.: ansiedade, depressão ou stress pós-traumático) é elevado nos profissionais cuja atividade laboral implica atuar em acidentes, seja na prestação de socorro ou noutras funções, surgindo também perturbações do sono, pesadelos e pensamentos intrusivos. Apesar das intervenções no trauma serem mais de cariz cognitivo-comportamental, e na depressão/ansiedade serem mais de tipo farmacológico, a hipertermia de corpo inteiro começa a ser utilizada na depressão. Este estudo pretende avaliar o impacto de uma sessão de hipertermia no estado emocional e na qualidade/duração do sono em 19 profissionais variados, parte dos quais atuam em acidentes. Os dados foram recolhidos usando uma pulseira Xiaomi para medição do tempo de sono e questionários online sobre ansiedade, depressão, stress, burnout e sintomas traumáticos, aplicados antes da sessão e semanalmente até um mês depois da sessão. Encontrou-se uma melhoria do bem-estar geral e emocional e aumento do tempo/qualidade do sono, sugerindo que a hipertermia pode ser uma intervenção promissora no futuro.
