Aristotle and his Peripatetic circle developed an extensive work regarding the Greek philology and literary history, from studies of the epic works of Homer that were later applied in the interpretation of other poets. This article aims to give an account of the work done in the analysis, interpretation and textual criticism, combined with historical research, which allowed a wide and constructive approach in philological and literary fields.
