The archives standard description as a sine qua non condition for effective recovery and communication of the information on the Web

This paper, developed in the context of historical Archives, shows the importance of describing archives in a standardized way, in light of the Guidelines for Archival Description (GAD), to create finding aids that speed up the recovery and dissemination of the information contained therein.After a brief theoretical context of archives and their basic principles, we present some reflections on the methodology to be adopted in the construction of standardized tools – reliable and interoperable across platforms Web management / documentary description – and the dissemination of these instruments through web. Finally, we make a brief analysis of the automated platform for archival description Archeevo. Next, we make a brief description, with some points of reflection, regarding the automated platform for archival description Archeevo by completing the article with a brief summary of the most relevant aspects to be en account information and standardized description of the impacts that result from to their communication.
