What was the percentage growth between the early XV century and the early XVI century in the Oporto countryside? To answer this question, this article counts the number of tax payers in Oporto in two different fiscal sources; “o livro da abertura da rua nova (1438)” and “o livro da abertura da rua das flores (1521-1527)”. We pretend to present the growing of the number of tax payers in the countryside of the Oporto. Several tables were created to compare the numbers of the population in the circumscriptions in both periods and the population growth.
