Abstract

The elaboration of this article made it possible to reflect on the new perspectives and new paths of the Educating Cities in the current world scenario. For this, it used information provided by the references of the International Association of Educating Cities (AICE), in addition to presenting a brief reflection on the intentions of the Charter of Educating Cities and researchers who focused on the theme. The results obtained from this reflection revealed that one of the challenges of the Educating City is to balance and harmonize the cultural identity of the community that constitutes it, without putting at risk the construction of what is common to all, aiming to consolidate a democratic and peaceful citizenship, with education as a promoter of coexistence, the formation of ethical values, citizenship practices and human rights, in favor of recognition by uniqueness.
