The author presents 58 Roman bronze coins found in a burial discovered in 1964 at the House of skeletons (Conimbriga, Portugal). The coins, mostly from the second half of the 4th century AD, must have been in a purse placed near the chest of a female individual. From that point on, several considerations are made
about the function of coins in Late Roman funerary contexts.
