HIV is a major public health problem in the countries of the EU/EEA. New cases continue to rise in men who have sex with men, which accounted for 42% of newly diagnosed cases. 47% of newly diagnosed cases occur in advanced stages of the infection. The treatment as prevention, pre-exposure prophylaxis and treatment indication independently of T CD4 + altered the approach paradigm towards the infection. Programs of the past decade are due to the Dublin and Vilnius Declarations. The intensification of prevention and treatment over the next five years are essential to achieve the goal "90-90-90".
