This article intends to explore the apparent arrival in Portugal of a European dynamic of civic integration policies as a way to promote integration of third‑country nationals. It will therefore be relevant to revisit the concept of integration, as well as the evolution of the corresponding European Union policy. The article ultimately discusses the possibilities unfolded by the new Action Plan on Migration recently presented by the Portuguese government.
