Discussing Migration: Benefits and Challenges

Abstract

This text studies migration in the context of globalisation, empha­sising its complexity and its positive and negative impacts. The author argues that migration cannot be understood from a one­‑dimensional and simplistic perspective, as it requi­res a systemic approach that consi­ders its causes, characteristics and consequences in the social, political and economic spheres. The text aims to contribute to a more infor­med and critical discussion on migration, without pretending to cover the whole subject.
