Abstract

History is illustrated by icons, unfolded by thoughts and actions. Under the inspiration of Álvaro Vasconcelos, a Portuguese thinker and cosmopolitan citizen, the text addresses the human condition in the contemporary world, in movements from the periphery to the center, between Tradition and Modernity, with dignity as the ultimate aim. In this challenging sense, significant notes from the Social Doctrine of the Church and the Encyclical Letter Fratelli Tutti promote inspiring interpretations concerning (non)doctrine and critical horizons for today’s burning issues.
