The present paper illustrates the application of resistivity methods to the detection of cavities. Owing to the nature of the problem, it is proposed the use of tri-potential techniques with Wenner arrays. Two parallel sounding profiles over the «Nascente do Almonda» Cave are discussed and interpreted in terms of resistivity pseudo sections and Pb/Py ratio sections. These field measurements are interpreted with the aid of tank analogue results.
From the example herein discussed, the use of Pb/Py ratios stands out in the final interpretation of the resistivity measurements carried out in a zone where non outcropping two-dimensional structures are present.
