Analysis of tunnel behaviour in discontinuous rock masses

Abstract

Some parametric studies about the influence of the mechanical properties of joints on tunnel behaviour are reported. Stress and displacement fields are presented, and a comparison is made with isotropic and anisotropic, analytical or numerical continuous solutions.
