Paradela Dam Repair

Abstract

Paradela rockfill concrete face dam, 110 m high, has been built between 1956 and 1958.

Both a short description of the dam and the history of its main repairs since 1962 are made.  The last repair in 1980 with a waterproofing "in situ" membrane is justified and analysed. The amount of leakage through concrete slabs before and after 1980 is also compared.
