Some suggestions of a pratical nature are made regarding the execution of dam grout curtains, with a view to reduce their cost and make them more efficient.
The subjects dealt with are, fundamentally, the elimination of some water grouting tests, considered technically and economically unsuitable, chiefly during the execution of the grout curtain, the values of the grouting pressures for water and grout, and a scheme suggesting the most adequate spacing for the holes in these curtains.
The suggestions presented are not of a rigid nature and must be adjusted to each case. It is expected that results will be made available so as to assist in the possible preparation of standards for the execution of grout curtains.
