Some thougts conceming the theories involved in soil mechanics studies

Abstract

The fundamental methodologies adopted in Soil Mechanics studies are reviewed, stressing the connections with the theories of elasticity and plasticity. The approaches involved in the assimilation of actual soils to ideal and simple rheologic bodies are commented.
