Note on expansive soils, recognition and the forecasting of their behaviour

Abstract

This paper deals with the behavior of the binary admixtures of soils (clay and sand) exclusively concerning the study of the variation with clay content (C), CBR, expansion (e) and expansion pressure (Pe) for the maximum of compaction curves and also concerning the correlation of these values. The tested clay is a subtropical expansive soil and its properties are also referred.
