Correlation between basic parameters of clayey soils and dredging results

Abstract

The paper describes the geotechnical studies executed to dredge the Channel of Approach to the Ore and Coai Dock of Rio de Janeiro's Port, with a view to establishing interrelations between the parameters representatives of the cohesive soils found.

With the information obtained on channel dredging, an attempt is made to establish an inter-relation between the dredging results, the consistency of the soils and the standard penetration test.
