Piping phenomena in cohesive soils. Protective filters

Abstract

The state-of-the-art of the problem, taking as a basis the more recent published studies, is presented. Searching the confirmation of the proposed theories a series of tests are under way at LNEC in which particular attention is given to a critical review of the available experimental methods for the determination of the involved mechanical chàracteristics.
