This article aims to analyze the role of travel in some of Queiroz’s novels. Two complementary approaches are used to this end. First, based on the various movements present in these works, the aim was to show how a precise map of the monetary flow present in them can be drawn up, and, subsequently, to understand the meaning that can be attributed to this flow. Then, focusing attention on two books, O primo Basílio and A ilustre casa de Ramires, the aim was to verify some peculiar aspects that they have, both in the way they temporally locate the events present in them, and in the way they present the spatial focus that is made possible for readers.
