Abstract

Plagio del afecto (2003-2005/2010), by the chilean poet Carlos Cociña (1950–), was created with appropriated texts from different sources. The book was published in digital format in the website of the author between 2003 and 2005 and, five years later, in printed format by Ediciones Tácitas. In this essay, I will thoroughly analyze the links and tensions between the materiality of the screen version and the paper version. I propose that their differences account for a thorough formal experimentation and reflection, so it isn’t just a simple transfer of supports. As it will be seen, the importance of the material dimension constitutes a fundamental aspect of the poetics of the book.
