Robert Sternberg's Triangular Theory of Love understands and characterizes love relationships based on three components: decision/commitment, intimacy and passion. This article aims to present psychometric properties of the Reduced Triangular Love Scale (ETAS-R) for a sample of 1.380 Brazilian homosexuals (966 men). Different models were tested from exploratory and confirmatory analyzes and the original three-factor theoretical model showed the best fit indices, although the factor retention and the one-dimensionality indices of the measure indicated a general second-order factor. The evidence presented adds to the ongoing discussion about the factorial and theoretical structure of the measure and inserts homoaffective relationships in the field of love research in scientific psychology in a more robust way. In general, the results showed similarities with data analyzed in other studies with samples of heterosexuals, allowing the generalization of Sternberg's theoretical construct on love for homosexuals.
