Through the known medieval Portuguese Synod constitutions and the way they sought to act at the clergy practices, on the respective dioceses, this paper seeks to understand the brands of the clerical daily life in broader context, which included tasks, practices and procedures larger than the specific functions of the group, and which shaped, after all, a process of “internal acculturation” in the society in which these cleric members belonged.
