The analysis of the material culture (the cultural significance of the objects), allows better understand the complexity of popular daily world and the evolution towards more modern conceptions of privacy, comparing certain guidelines found in different Castilian and Portuguese social levels during the Ancient Régime, both interior furnishing of houses and in public appearances through the outer clothing.
