The French director Jean Noël Pascal-Angot, through his Franco-Belgian company International Audio Vision, developed an important activity of propaganda film production in Portugal and its colonies during the decades of the 1960s and 1970s. However, his professional and personal life before and after he came to Portugal remained shrouded in mystery for decades. This article presents a detailed analysis of his biography, his professional activities and the work of his Franco-Belgian teams in the Portuguese colonies. The aim of this research is to contribute, through a detailed source of information, to more analytical and critical studies on Pascal-Angot's work in particular and on European colonial propaganda cinema in general.
