The diffusion of the seal as an instrument of documentary validation, coincided with the creation of the Andalusian council institutions on the occasion of the Castilian conquest of the Guadalquivir valley. The establishment of the council model in Andalusia led to the creation of new institutions, which required diplomatic seals for the issuance of their documents. This paper delves into the imprints of the councils of Córdoba, Sevilla and Cádiz, their creation and their use as guarantee instrument of the documented facts, analyzing some of their most significant representative characteristics.
