Abstract

This paper is based on an empirical research focused on the training practices of a Continuing Vocational Training (CVT) facility in a large company of the automobile sector. It aims at analysing the purposes and objectives of a training that is designed and developed in close connection with the execution of work and professional knowledge. To achieve this objective, the methodological option was the intrinsic case study method, and a wide range of collection techniques of qualitative data has been used. The data analysis allows us to verify that there is a fusional relationship between work and training. This fusional relationship is reflected in the organic dependence of the training centre of the production department, in the aims and objectives of the training, in the conversion of practices reference framework into training reference framework and in the subordination of the training to the needs and rhythms of the production system.
