Risco de burnout e trauma em profissionais da ferrovia com e sem experiência em acidentes

Os profissionais que trabalham na ferrovia enfrentam situações stressantes potenciadoras de stress pós-traumático e de stress crónico no trabalho. Pretende-se conhecer o nível de burnout e a existência de stress pós-traumático, comparando os resultados em função da vivência de acidentes no trabalho. Aplicaram-se a 293 profissionais da ferrovia questões sociodemográficas e profissionais, o Maslach Burnout Inventory e a Impact of Event Scale – Revised. Encontraram-se níveis moderados de burnout, nos quais se destacam 56% dos inquiridos com exaustão emocional elevada. O stress pós-traumático apresentou níveis moderados mas 32% da amostra tem já sintomas de trauma. Verificou-se que 60% da amostra tem experiência de acidentes, apresentando mais exaustão emocional e valores superiores em todas as dimensões do trauma. Quanto mais recente o acidente maior o evitamento psicológico e sintomas de trauma, alertando para a necessidade de prevenir, a longo prazo, o adoecer psicológico.
