The natural hazard of the air temperature in continental Portugal: risk assessment in mortality

Significant correlations between mortality and air temperature (1941-2005) were identified for several time scales (year, seasons and months). The correlations detected as significant are positive in summer and negative in winter. The months of summer and winter are those that most influence the number of deaths in mainland Portugal.
