Abstract

This manuscript presents the spatial distribution patterns for contaminants in groundwater - uranium and arsenic – in a transboundary watershed (Agueda river). The obtained maps will allow the evaluation of environmental risks associated with human activities in the study area. Mining activities is an important environmental risk. The obtained results also contribute to water systems management and for the future definition of action policies in transboundary watersheds.
