In 2011 the General Library of University of Coimbra acquired the Nabais Conde Maps Collection. After the digitalization of the 1191 maps, we began their technical treatment, which took place between January 2017 and January 2018. After the technical treatment and by analysing the collection it is possible to notice that regarding to the time of publication, the 18th century is the most represented, just as the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands are the countries from which most publishers / printers come from. The most valuable piece is a map of Portugal according to Álvaro Seco, dating from 1560 and oriented to the West. Most of the maps are representations of Portugal. In addition to the maps, we also find nautical charts, as well as numerous images representing city views. As for the cataloguing was used ISBD (consolidated edition), the collection was classified according to the Universal Decimal Classification and indexed with indexation terms of the University of Coimbra Millennium database.
