Myth, Functions of the mythAbstract
Starting from a general approach of classical and pre-classical mythologies we present in this text what can be considered as a brief introduction to the myth, developing four fundamental functions that allow a basis for reading and interpretation: eschatological, social, daily, and prophetic-apocalyptic functions. More than a separation between myth and reason, we will try to address how there are reasons for the myth and how these are based on the relation of man to the symbolic use of language.
