The Architecture Archives preserve unquestionable contributions to the History of Architecture. As a result of professional practice, these collections are integrated as documentary sources that require the attention of specialists for their preservation and dissemination, of which the Forte de Sacavém and the Information System for Architectural Heritage (SIPA) stand out in our country.
“Raúl Chorão Ramalho – Architect” (1914-2002), is the name of the exhibition and exhibition catalog that, in 1997, revealed the importance of his projects and works for the history of Portuguese architecture, a corollary of a systematization process and pre-inventory of its studio archive, a consequence of the continued office practice for more than four decades.
The relevance of the documentary collection handed in to the SIPA in 2004 is highlighted, and the importance of its research, for better framing and understanding the bodywork of the activity of this profession in the Portuguese architecture of the 20th century, in Portugal and abroad, is argued.
