Landscape, innovation and resources of rural rental. The case of the Carregal do Sal

After a cycle of depopulation, there has been increasing demand and interest in rural areas, now living contexts of change. These rural areas are a space reservation of resources and environmental assets as well as places of memory and cultural heritage. Assume new roles, different from those who had and come to play an important role for non-rural or urban populations, especially as spaces for recreation, leisure and tourism. The study discusses the importance and growing interest in the countryside and the role it assumes as a tourism resource. Discusses the importance of agriculture, more than the mere production, is responsible for shaping landscapes. Stands and approaches the countryside, agriculture and activities related to this that are characterizing rural areas as key features to streamline and develop the same in terms of tourism. As a case study, presents of Carregal do Sal Here to debate farming as a possible sustainable tourism resource of this county. Noteworthy are the (new) assets not yet integrated in the tourist activity of Carregal Sal, some associated with landscape and importance of agriculture. After a brief introduction to the cultural landscape of Carregal do Sal, this test will focus on heritage that from a rural and agricultural past can now be incorporated into the county’s tourist development. In terms of methodology for the study presented proceeded to a comprehensive collection of literature and consultation.
