In this paper, we seek to understand how does a geographer should deal with the questions around “climate change”, and how to is called to project this understandings in the context of the E.U. strategy of Horizon 2020. It discusses the concept of climate, his temporal and spatial dimensions, and the need to serve as a reference for confronting the catastrophic scenario that has been transmitted to and underpinning the criteria for allocating funding of mega-projects, under this strategy. Examples of factual evidences that contradicts this negative scenario, both in Portugal and globally, are presented.Downloads
